From the moment we’re born, life has certain expectations. Whether we like it or not, roles are given to us. We’re expected to play a part and quite often, we’re not given the script. As men, one of those roles is warrior. Society throws us the part of protector, provider, hunter, and teacher. But, society doesn’t offer a manual for any of the parts. So, men are left to figure it out, assuming how to operate and how to fulfill the roles. This is even more difficult when men don’t have effective father figures to help them navigate the process of growth.
